Puppy Classes

Our classes are a fun way of socialising your puppy in a controlled safe environment. Classes run on a Tuesday between 12.30 and 13.30, they run for 3 consecutive weeks in our reception.

Our classes are designed to benefit puppies and their owners in several ways:

1. Providing socialisation experiences for young pups up to approx. 15 weeks old. We ensure that the first vaccination has been given before they start the course and limit the upper age so that the course is not too overwhelming for very young pups.

If your puppy is over 15 weeks at the start of the classes we can offer a 1:1 session instead so you still get all the information and handouts.

2. Educational benefits for owners, we have an emphasis on building a strong bond between you and your puppy whilst having fun!

We cover positive reinforcement training, we teach basic training such as handling, sit, recall, leave, stay, settle and lead walking. As well as socialisation and habituation, play biting, house training, being left alone, noise phobias, poisons, neutering, dog laws and much more …

3. The added benefit is that the pups will grow up to view the surgery as a friendly, fun place to visit. When visiting the surgery they will be more relaxed and this will allow us to give them examinations easily and will make visits to the vets less stressful for everyone.

Our classes are run by Glenda, who is an experienced RVN with behavioural qualifications.
