Glenda

Veterinary Nurse

Glenda - Veterinary Nurse
Glenda RVN Veterinary Nurse

Glenda grew up in Dorset on her family’s smallholding and always knew she wanted to work with animals. She followed this love into university and completed a BSc Degree in Zoology. Wanting to work more practically with animals, she trained as a Veterinary Nurse and qualified in 1998.

Since then she has been lucky enough to work in a variety of practices and gain experience with both farm animals, horses and small animals. She particularly loved working with Alpacas.

Animal behaviour has always fascinated Glenda and she gained a Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling in 2003 from Southampton University. She also has a love of emergency work and critical care and has more recently worked as a locum for Vets Now Emergency Service.

Glenda married an Amesbury farmer in 2005. Together they farm 600 Romney sheep and grow arable crops around the Stonehenge World Heritage Site and Amesbury. As well as the sheep, they look after their cows, chickens, geese, guinea-pigs, cats and ferrets. They also share their home with two very well-behaved working dogs and two untrained, cheeky, naughty boys (it’s also not been unknown to have an orphan piglet in the house)! In any spare time, Glenda likes to help out at her sons’ school on the P.T.A., play hockey for Salisbury Hockey Club, walk, cycle and ski.
